ABOUT

Miniswys has been rethinking the design of piezo actuators
for more than 10 years, experimenting and developing a unique approach to achieve bidirectional movements with only 2 components: a rectangular piezoelectric plate and a metallic resonator. Elmar Mock, co-inventor of the Swatch watch worked on the first concepts of miniswys actuators. The same disruptive approach used for the Swatch development was exploited to end up with a drastically simplified system making mass production possible.
Several years and patents later, the first Ultrasonic Ceramic Motor (UCM) was born, the UCM Delta. With its very small dimensions reaching 2x3x0.5mm, this actuator has been designed to fulfil the requirements of compact applications such as smartphone cameras, computer peripherals, robotics and micropumps. Thanks to the ultrasonic drive, Miniswys actuators reach very large strokes, have low power consumption and don't generate any magnetic fields.
In order to integrate its technology in a wide field of applications, Miniswys works closely with its clients to develop customised solutions with typical specifications ranging from 20mN up to 10N.
